Team Rubicon provides a safe and healthy environment for all members when deployed and mitigates as much risk as possible in disaster zones. The safety of the service dog is the responsibility of the handler. TR does not provide a safety plan if something happens to a service dog, and any services needed are the responsibility of the handler.

Team Rubicon provides no safety requirements for service dogs nor do we dictate if a service dog can or cannot deploy and head to the field. The service dog's handler is ultimately responsible for the safety of the service dog. Furthermore, it is up to the individual survivors whose homes we are working in to decide if they will allow a service animal on their property and in their residence. The same goes for lodging on private or a religious organization’s property; it is at the property owner's or manager's discretion to allow service animals on their property.
